Eggs to What?
Flea eggs hatch into larvae after a few days to a couple weeks. These larvae resemble tiny caterpillars or maggots. After hatching, they immediately look for food.
They eat what?
Their main food is flea dirt and other organic matter. Flea dirt is the feces of an adult flea and about the size of ground pepper without the same flavor. Since adult fleas feed on blood their droppings (flea dirt) is a nutritious food source for the growing larvae.
They live where?
Flea larvae are often found in areas your dog or cat frequent. Places like household furniture, bedding, cracks and the ground. Flea larvae thrive in warm humid environments and can overwinter in cold environments.
