If you have fleas on your dog or cat you also have them in your house. Fleas can readily breed in your house and under the right conditions their population can grow and grow.
What do Fleas Like?
Fleas thrive in pleasant humid environments with plenty of food. The food is the blood of the host (that’s you or your pet). The pleasant environment is your home. Flea eggs and larva survive quite nicely in carpeting, rugs and on furniture and pet beds. Yuck!
Start the War on Fleas
If you have a full blown flea infestation you have to attack. Start the attack by vacuuming your carpet and rugs. Vacuuming will cause the flea pupae to hatch out and it will also suck up some eggs, larvae and adults. You may also want to vacuum under furniture cushions and pet beds. After cleaning many resort to bombs, sprays and other poisons but there is an alternative.
